Cockchafer pocket watch

I am delighted to present this pocket watch, the result of over two months of effort !

The dial is made of chicken bones and resin. Body sequins were cut into quarters or even six, as usual, and placed strategically at the hour and minute hands.

The watch case is made of pewter. It is engraved with a phrase that often accompanies me: Every day is a second chance.

Meditating on this phrase helps me not to be discouraged in my work as a microsculptor, as well as in many other areas of my personal life.

And also because life can be a shock, and time lessens pain, heals wounds. The concept of time is important; I always tell my son that you have to give time time. You don't become a professional guitarist overnight !

I chose the cockchafer because it is

 sumptuously beautiful, but also

 because it is quite ephemeral; for

 me, it represents time passing.
