Lalique's Swallows in Love

Microsculpted comb : 1 x 0.8 cm chicken bones, resin, body glitter, watercolor |
I came across a drawing by René Lalique and wondered what materials this comb was ultimately made of.
I did some research and found photos of this object. René Lalique was used to working with unconventional materials at the time: horn mixed with precious stones, like the diamonds on the wheat ears here.

The original Lalique comb |
For my part, I used chicken bone because it's a very strong material, even if it looks delicate. The diamonds were made from body sequins cut into 4 or 6 pieces. Knowing that a body sequin measures 0.25 mm, I had to struggle to resinate and position them.
The wheat ears are made from brush hairs worked one by one to give them a precise shape.
