Sphinx on fleur-de-lys pendant

An hawk moth on fleur-de-lys decorated with a hundred body sequins
Insect : 1,5 mm       Flower : 4 X 5 mm

A newcomer: the hawkmoth, an insect well known for its unusual flight, strangely resembling that of the hummingbird.

It's a pollinating insect. It forages and feeds on nectar. A gourmand! A magnificent creature once again, one that deserves to be immortalized.

250 hours of work went into this pendant jewel. The insect measures 1.5 mm long and the flower 4 x 5 mm. The body sequins (0.25 mm) are cut into 4 or 6 and are resinated one by one and placed with a needle. I admit to having lost a lot of them!! and scraped a lot because they were either poorly glued or not the same size....
The path is often very chaotic and extremely slow. That's precisely what's interesting about this microsculpture work. It always gives me wonderful surprises!
